Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated 15 July 2026

This policy explains charges for Paymarka itself. It does not decide whether a provider must refund a client for work, an invoice, a deposit, a milestone, or any other underlying transaction. Those issues are between the provider and client, subject to their contract and applicable law. Paymarka currently does not accept online client invoice payments in the client portal; it records offline payment methods and proof for provider review.

This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. Nothing in it limits a consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be limited.

Paymarka charges

The price, currency, billing interval, plan limits, and any disclosed taxes or third-party processing charges are shown before you complete Paymarka checkout. The current public catalogue includes a One-Off plan priced at NGN 3,500 per deal, Starter at NGN 15,000 monthly or NGN 150,000 annually, Growth at NGN 39,000 monthly or NGN 390,000 annually, and a Scale plan shown as a contact-sales plan. The checkout screen controls if a price, plan, tax, fee, or feature has changed since this page was published.

Paymarka's own checkout is handled by Paystack or another configured payment provider. The provider may apply its own authentication, processing, reversal, chargeback, and refund rules. Paymarka is not the holder of client invoice funds and does not control a provider-client refund.

Subscriptions and cancellation

Monthly and annual plans may renew automatically at the interval shown at checkout. A workspace owner can request cancellation in the billing settings or by contacting Paymarka. Cancellation is intended to stop future renewal; access may continue until the end of the paid period, subject to the confirmation shown in the Service. Cancelling a subscription does not automatically refund the current billing period or reverse amounts already paid.

A plan upgrade or billing change may be charged immediately, and a downgrade may take effect at the end of the current billing period, as shown in the billing interface. If a payment fails, Paystack or Paymarka may retry, suspend, cancel, or downgrade the plan under the Terms and the provider's rules.

One-Off deal credits

A successful One-Off purchase creates one deal credit for the workspace. The credit is consumed when the Service creates a deal using it. A consumed credit is not restored because a deal is cancelled, completed, disputed, or no longer wanted. Contact Paymarka promptly if you were charged more than once, a confirmed payment did not create the credit, or a technical error prevented checkout from completing. Paymarka will investigate the payment record and apply any remedy required by law or expressly approved by Paymarka.

Except where applicable law requires otherwise or Paymarka expressly agrees otherwise, unused or consumed credits are not cash, are not transferable, and are not refundable after the credit has been consumed. Paymarka does not promise a refund merely because a credit was not used.

When a refund may be available

Paymarka may review a request where there was a duplicate charge, an incorrectly charged amount, a payment that was confirmed but the Service did not provide the purchased entitlement, or a refund is required by applicable law. A refund may be issued to the original payment method and may be subject to the payment provider's processing time, verification, and rules. Paymarka does not promise a discretionary refund and does not refund third-party bank or payment-provider fees unless required by law or expressly agreed.

For a client-provider dispute, contact the provider named on the invoice first. Paymarka cannot authorise a provider's refund, reverse a bank transfer, decide whether work was satisfactory, or guarantee recovery of money. If a payment provider or bank is involved, you may also need to use that provider's dispute or chargeback process.

How to request help

Use the Paymarka contact form and include the account email, workspace name, transaction reference, amount, date, plan or credit, and a short explanation. Do not include a full card number, password, secret key, or other unnecessary sensitive information. We may ask for reasonable information to verify the request. We will not treat a support request as a promise that a refund is due.

Consumer rights and legal review

Nigerian consumer-protection law may apply to a Paymarka purchase depending on the user, the transaction, and the circumstances. The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 contains rules about clear information, fair dealings, cancellation of advance orders, and unfair contract terms. Any mandatory right or remedy prevails over this policy. The operator's identity, address, complaints escalation route, tax treatment, and any sector-specific refund rule must be confirmed by Nigerian counsel before launch.
